Been on the internet, baught a shop manual. Just want to know what kind of engine oil to use and coolant. Just purchased a 2007 renegade 800. All service was done to it. I noticede the engine oil needs topped off and so does the coolant. Going on a ride and I like to keep these things handy. Will synthetic auto oil work or will this screw the clutch up? I have read when and how to do some of the mantainance, but no info on what type of fluids are used. thanks.

Most come with 5w40 synthetic motorcycle oil, although some use different weights and brands depending on riding conditions. 5W40 is a good all around oil for hot weather or cold. The clutches are external (under your left leg in the black cover)on these bikes and are dry. Any quality anti-freeze made for aluminum should be fine.

I would

make sure the overflow cap upgrade was done. Your good if you have a vent line. Keep an eye on your weep hole and CVT for leaks. Running hot is my major problem with a zinger.

Read the label on the anti-freeze, if it has "silica" in it stay away. They put silica(crushed glass) in their to "scrub" auto coolant passages to keep it clean.

I'm not 100% sure but most motorcycle/ATV engines have o-rings in their pump system and the "silica" tears them up, so go with a motorcycle/ATV coolant or a "silica free" coolant.

There are several "performance coolants" that work well, but some DO NOT MIX with the OEM stuff, it will turn your coolant into a Jell-O type substance.
